Some students enter the University of Oregon with a clear vision of what they want to do; others develop their passions by exploring an array of academic horizons.
No one knows what the future holds, but experts can predict this much: that people entering the work force now will change careers four or five times over their working lives. That degree of change illustrates the need for nothing so much as flexibility when it comes to job skills, and flexibility is what a liberal arts education offers the student of today. A liberal arts education provides a solid background for a career or for graduate school.
