Statement

Kris Lee is a PhD student specializing in Korean Linguistics. Prior to beginning the PhD program, she received her Master’s degree in Linguistics with a Language Teaching Specialization (LTS) from the University of Oregon, and joined the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures in 2012.

Her research focuses on SLA (Second Language Acquisition), syntax, pragmatics, and corpus linguistics. Her recent work deals with linguistic politeness focusing on the use of honorifics by speakers of Korean in authentic spoken data. 

In her free time, she enjoys reading mystery novels and watching movies.
