Research

Emily’s dissertation research examines the everyday politics of gender-based violence and care among low-income women in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 

Emily is a Fulbright-Hays Fellow and a University of Oregon Promising Scholar. In addition, her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Sylff Association, the Tinker Foundation, and the University of Oregon's Center for Latino/a and Latin American Studies, Center for the Study of Women in Society, and Global Studies Institute.
