The Human Physiology Major prepares you for the applied professional world by combining a rigorous and thorough curriculum with vetted experiential learning opportunities in a variety of professional fields including research, clinical medicine, physical therapy, athletic training, and other human-health centered fields. HPHY Unpaid Internship Stipend

UO Human Physiology majors who have accepted an unpaid internship related to human physiology topics can apply for a stipend to alleviate the financial burden of uncompensated, though professionally relevant, work. The purpose of this funding is to increase equitable access to undergraduate experiential learning opportunities, especially to folks who have been historically excluded due to socioeconomics and/or systemic racism. To be eligible students must be completing at least one full 10-week term of an unpaid internship with at minimum 30 hours total of meaningful human physiology-related work. Students with financial need and those from underrepresented identities in STEM will be given priority for this limited funding.

Deadlines to apply: Fall term=Aug 15th; Winter term=Nov 15th; Spring term=Feb 28th; Summer term=Apr 30th

College of Arts & Sciences Hands-on Learning Scholarship

CAS invites undergraduate students to apply for scholarships to support them in pursuing experiential learning opportunities. The scholarship will provide financial support of up to $5,000 to assist students in completing an unpaid summer internship, research opportunity, or service-learning experience of at least 8 weeks’ duration. Preference will be given to applicants with financial need, as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships. CAS will consider assistance for paid internships where the case can be made that the compensation will not be adequate to cover living expenses.

Applications open Week 3 of preceding term, and close Week 7 of preceding term.
