This course was designed with first-time programmers in mind. Not sure how to install Python? Our first day will focus on installing Python and setting up your coding environment for the rest of the workshop.

Professor Michael Moffitt (CHC faculty fellow) has been a law professor for more than twenty years, was dean of the law school for six years, and has read more than five thousand law school applications. Clark Honors College students are invited to this info session with Prof. Moffitt to explore the possibilities law school offers and the paths toward success in the law school admissions process!

Create a clean, compelling online portfolio that showcases your work. Whether you're preparing for internships, launching a job search, or building your professional presence, a strong portfolio helps you stand out. In this hands-on, one-day workshop, you'll learn how to design and assemble an online portfolio using Notion, a flexible, user friendly tool that makes it easy to present your achievements, projects, and experiences in a polished way.

Participants will explore Notion's essential features, learn about how to effectively use Notion blocks, and structure information in various ways to customize your portfolio. By the end of the session, you'll walk away with a functional portfolio that you can continue to refine and build on. You'll also be exposed to all the other ways you can use Notion in the future.

You'll learn to:

• Navigate and personalize your user interface
• Use core Notion shortcuts for better workflow
• Create, organize, and design portfolio pages
• Present and organize information clearly
• Take advantage of Notion beyond portfolio creation

This workshop is designed for students at any stage, whether you're starting from scratch or refreshing a portfolio you already have. No prior Notion experience is necessary.

Build and polish an attention-grabbing advertising portfolio! Whether you're a copywriter, art director, strategist, media planner, account director, illustrator, designer photographer, videographer, or still figuring it out--we got you covered! Get your questions answered here. No RSVP required to attend. Drop in when you can. You do not need to have a portfolio to attend. Office hours are open to students of all experience levels. 

Join representatives from the Clark Honors College and the UO’s Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact to learn about the Knight Campus Undergraduate Scholars Program. Through this program, students with sophomore or junior standing who are majoring in a natural science field are offered a mentored research opportunity (along with $16,000 of funding!) in a Knight Campus lab in 2027.

We’ll cover what actually matters on a resume, how to make your experience shine (even if you think you don’t have any), and what to cut so your resume doesn’t turn into a five-page novel. We’ll also show you what a cover letter really needs, how to tell your story without rambling, and how to highlight why you’re a perfect fit without sounding like a robot. Plus, we’ll dive into how AI is changing the application game and what that means for personalizing your letter.

Whether this is your first resume or cover letter or your tenth recycled template, you’ll leave with tips to make yours clear, compelling, and unmistakably you.

Have a business idea? Here's your chance to turn it into something real.

Ronnen Harary, co-founder of Spin Master and co-creator of PAW Patrol and Bakugan, is bringing the No Experience Necessary (NEN) Challenge to the University of Oregon. Students are invited to pitch their business ideas in just 60 seconds for a chance to receive $500 in startup funding and compete for one of ten $25,000 grants.

Here's how it works:

• Register online in advance, then bring your idea to Gilbert Plaza outside the Lundquist College of Business on October 29.
• You'll have 60 seconds to pitch directly to Harary, followed by 60 seconds of questions.
• If selected, you'll receive $500 on the spot and have seven days to put that money toward your idea.
• Participants who complete the challenge requirements will be eligible for consideration as finalists, with ten founders ultimately receiving $25,000 each to build their businesses.

No pitch deck or previous business experience required. Just bring your idea and be ready to share it!
