College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) advising is the central advising office for all CAS majors and minors. We are committed to:

  • Engaging with students in exploration of their interests, goals, and values
  • Teaching students how to navigate university processes and access campus resources to promote belonging and academic success
  • Collaborating with students in identifying and making timely progress on a course of study, including core education, major, experiential learning, and co-curricular activities, that prepares them to graduate in a timely manner
  • Guiding students in developing a plan for post-graduation

What does it mean to be a CAS student?

If your major or minor is one of the over 50 majors and 60 minors in CAS, you have a team of advisors ready to support you. Learn more about the majors and minors in the three divisions: Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences.

CAS Advising is located in one central location: Tykeson Hall. No question is too big or too small. CAS advisors are with you every step of the way and will provide a network of resources to support you through your journey at UO.
With CAS Advising, you can expect to have a team of advisors. Our team approach makes advising more accessible, particularly when immediate help is needed for the key decisions you need to make as a student.

If you have majors or minors in multiple divisions, start with the one you have questions about right now. In the case of exploring students, choose the division for the major that interests you most.
