Research Interests: Research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, and time series forecasting. I am no longer directing new graduate students.

Biography

Juan spent almost 40 years teaching at the University of Michoacan, in his hometown of Morelia. After retiring, he began working at the University of Oregon. His research focuses on applications of Artificial Intelligence to Electrical Engineering, Time Series Forecasting, and Financial Analysis. Teaching

Juan is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oregon. Although Juan currently teaches mostly lower-division courses focused on programming and web development, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars.
