CAS Strategy

During the past six months, College of Arts and Sciences stakeholders have built a roadmap to guide the college over the next five years. Our new strategy was born out of feedback and support from the college's community—including alumni, campus leaders, faculty, staff, and undergrad and graduate students. CAS is excited to pursue this strategy, which will continue our commitment to CAS students and ensure our college is grounded and connected with our community.

Vision: The College of Arts and Sciences offers an inspired, forward-looking, inclusive liberal arts education that prepares students for a life of purpose and well-being while maximizing the opportunities afforded by a world-class research university.

Mission: The College of Arts and Sciences is Oregon’s premier liberal arts institution: an inclusive and collaborative community of critical thinkers, curious learners, and creative scholars, working together to build a better world.

Strategic Priorities

The College of Arts and Sciences remains committed to providing students with a rigorous liberal arts education that is foundational to a purpose-filled life.

Through meetings with stakeholders and the CAS community, the college has developed a set of strategic priorities that will stay true to the ethos of a liberal arts education but in a 21st-century context.
