Making an Appointment
Advisors help CAS majors and minors throughout their undergraduate journey by tailoring the type of appointment to your needs. Your first step is to determine what type of appointment is right for you.
Drop-in Advising
Drop-in is intended for quick questions (15-minutes or less). We prioritize class registration and urgent requests when a deadline occurs before the next available appointment. Drop-in is first-come, first-served. In-person and virtual advising available! For more detailed questions, schedule a 30-minute advising appointment.
Drop-in availability varies by day and is organized by major. Find your drop-in days below! Unsure which day to attend? Find a list of majors and their corresponding group below.

Availability:
- Weeks 2-7 & 10-Breaks: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 10am-3pm (no drop-in Wednesday), Thematic drop-in, schedule above
- Week 9: Thursday & Friday, 10am-3pm, thematic drop-in, schedule above
- Week 1, & Week 8(M-W of Week 9): Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm (all advisors on drop-in, limited appointments)
- Week 9: Monday-Wednesday, 10am-3pm all advisors on drop-in, limited appointments

How to Access Drop-in
- Download Microsoft Teams from the UO Service Portal and follow instructions to install the application. Send a Teams message to tykesonfront with your UO 95#, CAS major or minor, and brief description of what you would like to discuss with an advisor
- Call 541-346-9200 to speak with Tykeson Advising reception
- During week 1 phone hours will shift to 3-4:30pm. Please come in-person or send a Teams chat to the front desk for drop-in assistance.
- Come in-person to the front desk, located on the first floor of Tykeson Hall
Schedule an Advising Appointment
In-person, virtual (Teams or Zoom), and phone appointments are available. Appointment will last approximately 30 minutes.
We recommend scheduling your appointment early (during weeks 2-5). Don’t see an appointment available? We shift to drop-in during week 8-9 for registration support. Visit our drop-in hours if you have an urgent question or need support with class scheduling.

Incoming Students
You will receive academic advising as part of the New Student Orientation (IntroDUCKtion) process. Please check your University of Oregon email after registering for your IntroDUCKtion session for more information on how to schedule your advising appointment.
