New CAS Report Features $53M in Research Funding

Student researchers on Professor Lucas Silva’s team are studying whether replanting vegetation along rivers can help mitigate the effects of climate change.

CAS faculty are engaged in a great number of research and other projects designed to make the world a better place. Many of these projects are externally funded by grants from federal and state agencies, as well as from private foundations, and we focus on those externally funded projects in our current report, titled "From Curiosity to Impact: 2022-23 Sponsored Research in the College of Arts and Sciences." This report spotlights research in our three divisions: Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. We invite you to explore the individual stories of 9 faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences as well as our full list of funding for CAS departments in 2022-23. Total CAS research funding for the past year amounted to more than $53 million.
