Why did you join USAB?: As an Economics student, I have experienced how emphasizing gender, and racial diversity strengthens community and cohesion within a department. I joined USAB because its mission is to do exactly that across all majors within CAS by streamlining the values and concerns of students to CAS administrators.

Why did you join USAB?: As an out-of-state student who has worked on campus, participated in student organizations, studied abroad, and engaged in experiential learning, like the Environmental Leadership Program, I joined CAS USAB to advocate for students with diverse experiences. I solicit the college be more inclusive, supportive, and responsive to student needs.

Why did you join USAB?: I am a senior in Classics, concentrating in Greek and Latin; I have worked at an Etruscan archeological site, and enjoy all things ancient history. After graduation, I plan to gain work experience before pursuing a career in cultural heritage law. I joined USAB to foster a welcoming, accepting, and collaborative community for all CAS students.

Why did you join USAB?: I am a third-year Political Science and Environmental Studies student, minoring in Philosophy. As a Wayne Morse Scholar, Fossil Free UO co-lead, and former SURF and Environmental Justice Fellow, I am interested in democratic practice and protecting liberal arts education. Outside academics, I am a waiter, skater, and Eugene community member.

Why did you join USAB?: I am a senior Multidisciplinary Sciences student with an emphasis in global health and microbiology. I look forward to pursuing a PhD in the fall. Employing the intersections of my identities and experiences, I joined USAB to create safe spaces for all UO students and recommend opportunities for early career experiences.

Why did you join USAB?: I joined USAB to learn about the behind-the-scenes decision making in higher education and contribute to the CAS community. USAB gives students a voice to influence the processes that affect all CAS students. Representation is incredibly valuable, and through the feedback the board provides we encourage student centered initiatives.

Why did you join USAB?: I am a third-year CHC student in Neuroscience and Human Physiology. I research absence epilepsy in the McCormick lab, founded the Literature in STEM (LIST) book club, tutor organic chemistry, I am president of Medicine & Ministry, and a phlebotomist at University Health Services. I joined the board to advocate for interdisciplinary coursework, administrative transparency, and improved communication.

Why did you join USAB?: I am a fourth-year Human Physiology student minoring Spanish. I am a research assistant on campus and will pursue a career in optometry post-graduation. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing sports, and spending time with my siblings and dogs. I joined USAB to bring awareness to issues underrepresented students face at UO, specifically within STEM.
