Lee graduated from the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures with his PhD in December 2021. His dissertation examined museums and nationalism in China and Taiwan. He is broadly interested in how identity is formulated and articulated in the Chinese-speaking world. He is also the co-host of the Chinese Literature Podcast (www.chineseliteraturepodcast.com), the world's first Chinese literature podcast. Lee has written for The Economist, Sup China, the Los Angeles Review of Books and Thats Guangzhou.
