Biography

Jeffrey Ostler was Beekman Professor of Northwest and Pacific History and became Professor Emeritus in June 2021. He specializes in the history of the American West, with a particular focus on American Indian history.

Research

I am working on the second volume of a two-volume book that focuses on the impact of the United States on Native Americans from the 1750s to 1900.  The first volume was published by Yale University Press in 2019.
