Scientist in Lab

CAS faculty are engaged in a great number of research and other projects. Many of these projects are externally funded by grants from federal and state agencies, as well as from private foundations, and we focus on those externally funded projects here. This is a picture of these activities in the last two (record-breaking) years of external funding. During the last two years (2019-2021) new external awards granted to CAS faculty averaged about $78,000,000 per year (record breaking and an increase of about 39% over the annual awards during 2014-2019).
