Statement

Bassem earned his Ph.D. in Hebrew Literature from Alexandria University in 2013. He also obtained his Master's degree in Oriental languages ( Hebrew Specialization )  from The Institute of Oriental Languages At Alexandria University in 2008, and got his Bachelor of Arts, from the Department of Arabic Language and Literature & Oriental Languages and Literature in 2005. He taught  Hebrew at Alexandria University. He also taught Hebrew and Standard Arabic at UNC at Chapel Hill.

His literary research analyzes various aspects of Jewish culture and Hebrew literature, and his comparative linguistic research shows the close ties between Hebrew, Arabic, and Syriac, especially in phonetics and syntax.
