2023 CAS Commencement
Congratulations, Graduating Ducks!
Welcome to the 2023 CAS Commencement home page! This will be your one-stop shop for CAS-related commencement details, logistics and your place to RSVP for the ceremonies.
Here are the key details as of June 12, 2023:
- The College of Arts and Sciences will hold five separate commencement ceremonies on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. The ceremonies will cluster graduates by academic divisional area. The CAS Ceremonies will not be livestreamed.
- The five groups include undergraduate Humanities majors, Natural Sciences majors, Social Sciences majors, graduates of the School of Global Studies and Languages, and Master's and PhD students. Below is a list of majors associated with each ceremony.
- All ceremonies will include individual recognition of graduates, who will cross the stage as names are called and receive diploma covers. Only the MA/PhD ceremony includes hooding.
- The University will hold its main commencement celebration beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Autzen Stadium on June 20th. Families are invited to attend both the CAS and UO ceremonies, but the main UO ceremony is optional.
- RSVPs are now closed. Please arrive one hour early to your ceremony and check in at the student table and we will make sure you are registered and taken care of.

Grad Checklist

Apply for your degree if you have not already.
Apply for graduation on DuckWeb for undergraduate students, and GradWeb for graduate students. For spring term, undergraduate student applications are due by April 30, 2023; graduate student applications were due by April 14, 2023. Please contact graduatestudies@uoregon.edu with questions if you have not applied for your degree.

Order your regalia through The Duck Store.
You can order your cap, gown and more on The Duck Store Graduation Page.
Latin honor cords will be purchased by CAS and distributed by departments. Departmental honors cords information will be emailed to students with departmental honors in the coming weeks.

Find the ceremonies you are invited to attend.
This is based on which academic division your major is part of. The ceremony titles, locations and times are listed below by division.

Invite your family and friends!
Qualifying graduates are welcome to bring as many friends and family members as they would like. No tickets will be required.

RSVP to attend the CAS ceremonies.
RSVPs for CAS ceremonies are now closed. If you were not able to RSVP before the deadline, please plan to arrive one hour early to your ceremony and come to the student check-in table.
Reminders for the day of graduation:
- Please arrive with your regalia including cap, gown, and honors cords.
- Please plan to arrive at your designated ceremony one hour early and go to one of the check-in tables. This is where you will receive directions about seating and other details.
- The turf at Autzen radiates heat, and Autzen seating is not shaded by an overhang (including ADA). Water will not be provided, so graduates should bring their own (no glass bottles). Guests and graduates should be mindful of what you wear - layers under regalia could get hot, so please dress appropriately.
