Biography

With an MBA in Sustainable Business, an MS in Environmental Studies, Ben is a registered environmental professional that has worked at the University of Oregon since 2014. With a strong focus on student success, faculty relationships and campus partnerships, Ben currently manages a portfolio of academic programs, including undergraduate programming for The Earth Sciences Department (Geology, Paleontology, Environmental Geoscience, & Geophysics), plus a suite of graduate programs in Linguistics (MA, Language Teaching Studies, MA, Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program, MA Linguistics, & PhD Linguistics). Prior to this, Ben worked in various other academic roles, including graduate programs at the School of Global Studies and Languages, Environmental Studies & Science, Anthropology, & Geography. 
Ben grew up in San Diego, CA and Baja California, MX and graduated from the Longfellow Elementary Spanish Immersion School, part of the first ever cohort of students in the United States to complete a full Spanish immersion program, from K-6th grade. Ben has worked as a Project Manager for various carbon, life cycle, and sustainability projects, and at Apple Inc.
