Statement
Earth Sciences faculty member since 1986.
After 33 years on the University of Oregon faculty, twelve as Head of the Department of Earth Sciences and four as Divisional Dean of Natural Sciences, Dana retired in 2019. His focus these days is raising springer spaniel pup Toba and expedition travel as a shipboard earth science specialist with Lindblad/National Geographic Expeditions.
Research
Experimental studies of crustal anatexis; subduction-related magmatism; the melting systematics of Earth's upper mantle; and mineral/melt trace element partitioning at high temperatures and pressures.
