My work focuses on sociological dimensions of forest and fire governance in the western US. As a non-Native scholar, I am interested in how non-Native governments and organizations can support Tribal sovereignty and land stewardship, while addressing injustices of settler colonialism. I have a background in forest management and environmental education, and hold a B.S. in Forestry from UC Berkeley and an M.S. from Oregon State University in Forest Ecosystems and Society. For my Master’s, I partnered with the Intertribal Timber Council on a qualitative study examining opportunities for Tribal leadership in forest management.
