Following the herd: InfoGraphics Lab works to track wildlife migration
InfoGraphics - The cartographic team at the College of Arts and Sciences’ InfoGraphics Lab, along with an outside team of wildlife ecologists and spatial analysts have developed an interactive atlas to track vast migrations of ungulates, which are hoofed, typically herbivore mammals.
UO lab’s collaboration with nonprofit visualizes pesticide notifications in Oregon
GEOGRAPHY, INFOGRAPHICS - The InfoGraphics Lab and Beyond Toxics collaborated on a dynamic map that visualizes notifications of intent to use pesticides by the forestry industry on private land. The map not only provides a public service but also served as a training ground for students learning how to communicate complex data.
Writing about climate change is writer’s way of making an impact
CREATIVE WRITING - Alum Ross West pens a climate fiction collection of 15 stories about complicated environmental issues through 15 timely and thought-provoking stories that explore how climate change affects everyone.

Atlas update arrives in time for Yellowstone’s 150th anniversary
GEOGRAPHY, INFOGRAPHICS - March 1 marks the 150th anniversary of the founding of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. The publication of the second edition of the Atlas of Yellowstone, led by the University of Oregon, comes just in time to celebrate Yellowstone’s legacy.
UO partners with state to improve tsunami evacuation planning
GEOGRAPHY, INFOGRAPHICS - The UO has partnered with the state to build a web-based platform that directs Oregon coastal communities to evacuation routes in the event of a tsunami. The UO InfoGraphics Lab and Location Innovation Lab have been working to develop the platform.
