Biography

Bibo Lin is a PhD candidate in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. His research interests include artificial intelligence, human-machine communication, digital journalism, and global media. He has published articles in venues including Social Media + Society, Information, Communication & Society, and Digital Journalism. His dissertation inquires how artificial intelligence shapes the ways we understand ourselves and our emotions (including love, friendship, and grief). Previously, he was a senior editor of one of the most popular daily newspapers in China, City Express in Hangzhou, and as a journalist, he conducted interviews in Ukraine, Tanzania, Japan, and North Korea.
