My research concerns the neural and computational mechanisms that shape aesthetic experience, altered states of consciousness, and hierarchical predictive processing. I study how psychedelics disrupt perceptual, emotional, and semantic systems, revealing principles of brain organization. I am particularly focused on how fractal complexity influences cognition and perception, and how art leverages such structural features to encode and transmit statistically regular cognitive-behavioral patterns across time and culture.
