Biography

Olivia Wing is a PhD candidate focusing on Chinese and Japanese American youth culture in the early- to mid-twentieth century Pacific Northwest. Her dissertation examines the social worlds young people built through recreation and leisure activities, such as sports, clubs, and pageants. She asks how second- and third-generation youth culture shaped interethnic dynamics and their larger communities in the context of geopolitical upheaval.
